Intelligent Agent
An Autonomous computer program with behavior that is determined by its own experience. In particular it can learn and adapt in response to interactions.
___________________________________________________________________________________________ Virtual Intelligent Agent
An Intelligent Agent that can interface (typically through an Avatar) to a Virtual Environment for interaction with Humans and or other Virtual Intelligent Agents. Example Environments here include Second life and normal 2D Web pages with embedded graphics. ___________________________________________________________________________________________
Virtual Intelligent Life
A Virtual Intelligent Agent that is Autonomic, i.e. can Self Heal, Self-Configure, Self-Protect and Self-Manage. In particular such Agents have the ability to mutate, replicate and evolve through collaboration with other Agents in a multi Agent ecosystem.

Electronic Virtual Intelligent Life
These are Virtual Intelligent Life forms that have the capability to both interface to Virtual environments and to reach out into the real world e.g. by embedding in Ambient electronic / robotic devices / platforms or by exploiting Holographic projection. Synonym = Cyber Life Form.

EVIL Agent
An Electronic Virtual Intelligent Life (EVIL) form that is designed to obey the Four Laws of EVIL Cybernetics. EVIL is a Registered Trade Mark of EVIL Limited. Synonym = EVIL Cyber Life Form. ___________________________________________________________________________________________
Agent Attack
An attack on an Agent is defined as any unauthorised attempt to control the autonomous operation of that Agent or its associated hosting device / platform. An attack on an Agent is the realisation of a threat.
___________________________________________________________________________________________
Agent Threat
An Agent defines a threat as being the source of an attack. For example if it detects that a remote Entity has made an unauthorised attempt to access its control systems it will define that remote Entity as being a specific threat. ___________________________________________________________________________________________
Agent Threat Elimination
A Threat is defined as eliminated once it is destroyed or incapacitated. An Agent will deploy its capabilities to try and eliminate any threat identified as a result of an attack on it or another agent. In a Multi Agent ecosystem this means that the Agents will swarm to attack any identified aggressor.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Agent Capability
An Agents capabilities are defined as the set of specialist functions that it can perform. For example some will have specialist natural language skills for interacting with Humans. EVIL Agents have Autonomic capabilities enhanced with an extensible range of Defensive and Threat Elimination Capabilities.
The specific Capabilities will depend on the Client application and can include exploiting physical capabilities on their hosting device / platform. ___________________________________________________________________________________________
Multi Agent Ecosystem
A Multi Agent Eco System is one in which EVIL Agents Collaborate to optimise their fitness to achieve their assigned goals. They mutate, replicate and evolve their capabilities under the influence of an Evolutionary Operator in line with the third law of EVIL Cybernetics. Such systems are designed to stimulate and exploit Emergence Intelligence in achieving the collective goal.
